Shannon is a native of eastern North Carolina. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree with a concentration in Voice Pedagogy from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. After spending several years as an underwriting supervisor at an insurance company, he moved to Fort Worth in 2001 to attend Brite Divinity School. He earned his Master of Divinity degree in 2004 and was ordained in 2013.
Shannon enjoys helping people grow in their faith through worship, Christian education, contemplative prayer practices and small group experiences. He is currently in a three-year course of study with Heartpaths DFW training to become a Certified Spiritual Director.
In addition to being a minister, Shannon is also a certified Bikram Yoga instructor. During his spare time, Shannon enjoys reading, playing piano, practicing yoga, watching old movies and binge-watching TV shows. He lives in west Fort Worth with his very spoiled dog, Bernice.
